PPL CZ is one of the leading providers of transport and logistics services in the Czech Republic.
The modern sorting line, with a total conveyor length of more than 500 metres, enables automated parcel identification, dynamic weighing, dimension measurement and subsequent sorting. The depot can process up to 15,000 parcels per day.
LOGSYS a. s. supplied the conveyor technology – from the initial project design through installation, commissioning and putting the entire system into operation.
The solution includes:
Belt and gravity telescopic conveyors
High-capacity divertors
Belt conveyors, powered roller conveyors and curves, inclined belt conveyors (merge)
Conveyor platform with stairs and walkways

Dynamic weighing and parcel dimension measurement
PLC control system and automation of the entire conveyor technology
The identification system uses camera technology to read barcodes and 2D codes. Line-scan cameras enable parcel identification from five sides – from above, from the sides, from the front and from the rear. The system is complemented by scanners for measuring parcel dimensions and volume, as well as a dynamic weighing system.
The technology is designed to support different operating modes of the depot. Parcels are received into the system via telescopic conveyors, automatically identified and weighed, and then routed according to the captured data using the conveyor system and divertors. In the opposite direction, the system handles the flow of parcels from unloading vehicles through identification and weighing to automatic sorting onto the appropriate gravity telescopic conveyors towards the containers.
How did we contribute to the efficiency of the PPL depot?
Automated parcel identification – The camera system enables fast and reliable reading of barcodes and 2D codes from five sides of each parcel. This eliminates the need for manual identification and allows parcels to move smoothly through the next stages of the process.
Weighing and measurement during transport – The dynamic weighing system and scanners automatically capture parcel weight, dimensions and volume without the need to stop the parcels or perform additional manual handling.
Automated parcel sorting – High-capacity divertors and interconnected conveyor routes automatically direct parcels according to the captured data.
Smooth parcel flow – The combination of telescopic, belt and roller conveyors enables a continuous flow of parcels between the individual areas of the depot. The technology supports both parcel receiving and subsequent sorting and dispatch.
Operational flexibility – The conveyor system is designed for different operating modes of the depot and enables efficient management of parcel flows in both directions – from receiving to sorting towards the individual destinations.
