Diverter arms

Tilting arms are essential components used to change the direction of transported items within various types of conveyor systems. These arms can be powered or non-powered, depending on the specific requirements of the application. Powered tilting arms are typically driven by a vertical belt conveyor, roller strip, or sliding plate, facilitating smooth material movement in the desired direction. Non-powered arms are often employed for manual direction changes in systems with lower automation needs.

Tilting arms are manufactured with both automatic and manual tilting options, offering flexibility in conveyor design for diverse manufacturing and distribution processes. Automatic tilting arms are controlled by sensors and control units that respond to directional change requests, integrating seamlessly into fully automated systems. Conversely, manual versions are suitable for simpler applications requiring manual direction changes and are more cost-effective for smaller businesses or scenarios with lower throughput.

Tilting arms provide numerous benefits, including flexibility in altering material flow direction and enhancing logistics in distribution centers, warehouses, or production lines. Their straightforward operational principle and adaptability to various conditions allow easy customization to specific transport requirements. These arms are frequently utilized in applications necessitating swift direction changes of items, leading to time savings and increased productivity.

FAQs

A diverter arm is a sorting element that changes the direction of transported goods in a conveyor line. It acts as a diverter, redirecting items from the main flow to a side branch according to a command from the control system. It is used where products need to be divided into several directions, for example to individual collection points, dispatch ramps or downstream conveyors. This speeds up sorting and increases operating throughput without the need for manual transfer.

A diverter arm is suitable when goods need to be diverted simply and reliably to one or more side branches directly within the conveyor flow. It is well suited to operations with a varied product range where sorting directions change according to current needs. For higher capacities or specific parcel shapes, other solutions in our automatic sorting section may be more suitable. We will design the correct type according to your product range, required capacity and line layout.

A powered arm has its own drive that actively moves goods in the required direction. A non-powered arm only guides the goods and relies on movement from the conveyor. Powered versions use elements such as vertical belt conveyors, rollers or a slide plate and are suitable for a smooth, faster material flow. Non-powered and manual versions are a more economical choice for simpler applications and lower volumes. We select the appropriate version according to the characteristics of the goods and required throughput.

Yes, we design diverter arms to connect to your existing line and control system. The automatic version works with sensors and a control unit, so the arm responds to commands from the higher-level system and sorts goods automatically according to identification data. As a Czech manufacturer and integrator, we provide custom design, manufacturing and installation as well as connection to your conveyors and identification elements. We will design the specific integration method after mapping your line and processes.

The price and delivery time are influenced mainly by the arm design, namely whether it is powered or non-powered and whether sorting is automatic or manual. The required capacity, number of output directions, material, scope of control and complexity of integration into the existing line also play a role. Because every solution is made to order, we determine the exact price and delivery date according to the specific requirements. The best approach is to contact us with a description of your operation and product range, and we will propose a variant that matches your needs and budget.
